Once there, this is a great destination for grandparents and children. Kids can participate in the numerous activities without too much strain on their parents and grandparents. However, if you are concerned about preserving your energy, take a short cab ride from Union Station. The blocks to the Capital Chiildren's Museum are rather long and aren't paved well.

Go in the mornings when it is less crowded and let the kids work up an appetite. Go to Union Station for lunch.
