A great inside tip is to have lunch at the Velocity Grill. The dining room overlooks the arena floor, so you might be able to catch one of the professional teams at practice.

Don't go to the MCI Center without checking out the Discovery Channel's superstore. There are many entertaining activities at the store including, the Hubble Observatory, a giant ant colony and  "Destination DC" - a short but informative film on downtown Washington. There's also "Discovery Rex" a cast of  the world's largest Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton ever assembled.
