| Opera
Seven operas are performed each year in their native language (with English subtitles)
at the JFK Center For Performing Arts. Tickets for these performances are worth their
weight in gold because the season often sells out well in advance. Returned tickets can be
purchased one hour in advance of curtain time, but you need to get very lucky in order to
get them. If you have a couple of days in Washington, line up at the Kennedy Center box
office early Saturday morning. Standing room tickets for the following week go on sale at
10 AM. The opera season at the Kennedy Center's Opera House and Eisenhower Theater is from
November until March.
